Message Stance purchase SPL arms through SG Motorsports a few years back and had them duplicated (overseas I assume). When they placed the order with Sasha he contacted Kuah with concerns about them possibly knocking them off and even discussed it with Stance before agreeing to sell to them. Stance promised they would NOT knock them off but obviously that was an outright lie. Luckily they haven't knocked off our hybrid adjuster like Aliaz pointed out but many people do not know the true story.

If they hadn't purchased through SGM they would have sourced them somehow. Sadly there is really not much that can be done to stop it. They can get anyone to purchase parts through any of our dealers or directly from us and we'd never know we're being duped till their parts hit the market a few short months later.

This particular knockoff has been discussed on other forums (likely Zilvia) in the past and I believe Kuah posted some comparison pics of the crappy welding on the Stance arms. Wish I had the link or the picture right now.

Regarding the SPL and Nagisa topic Kuah was rebranding some Nagisa arms in the past with their permission. There were a certain number of parts that he trusted the quality enough to put the SPL name on. This has never been argued or denied. All parts CURRENTLY sold by SPL are made in the USA and are our own designs. We not only have our own CAD software, we are currently working with an Engineer who has raced and won professionally in Grand Am and lives in the DFW area.We also work with an engineer locally here in Austin who is a long time member of TT.net. We own our own shock dyno and have many of our parts tested for strength by a certified US testing lab. Our parts are anodized and powdercoated right here in Austin and we use a shop in Houston for electroless nickel plating. I even drive the parts to Houston and back to ensure they don't get damaged in shipping.

We haven't sold the Nagisa front or rear lower control arms in quite some time now although we get constant requests for them. We're on our 4th revision of our own design for the front lowers and still are not happy with the design and ready to sell them to the public. We easily have $10k in R&D invested in the project and we're not done! We will not release these to the public until we are happy with the functionality and strength of the new design. Same goes for the front upper control arms. We easily have $5k invested in the R&D of our version of the arms and won't release them until we are 100% satisfied with the design.

Getting knocked off sucks. Getting knocked off and having that company charge the same amount as we do for a part made overseas at a fraction of our manufacturing cost and zero R&D expense sucks. Gladly awareness of the situation has increased considerably here on the forum and certainly elsewhere but it is still a huge problem in the industry, especially for a small shop like SPL.

I know I appreciate it when others stand up for SPL and others that are getting robbed & duplicated. I rarely participate in these discussions mostly due to having little free time and would rather work on designing new parts, but I wanted to set the record straight since this particular blatent knockoff really chaps my hide.
